The challenge

Hawks Management Group is an accounting firm, corporate and personal tax, bookkeeping, and advisory, that has served the Greater Toronto Area for more than twenty-five years, founded in 2001 and still led by its founder.

The reputation was strong, but the firm was hard to find online: a search for a corporate tax accountant in the area surfaced competitors first. The work itself ran out of people's heads, with client status tracked across a handful of spreadsheets, and past ad spend had run with no way to tell what it produced.

It starts with what you want to be known for

Getting found does not start with tactics. It starts with a decision most firms skip: what do you want to be known for, and which searches are actually worth winning? We worked that out first, the specialty worth leaning into and the queries worth chasing, so everything built after it points the same direction.

For a firm with twenty-five years of depth, that meant owning corporate tax for incorporated owners rather than trying to rank for everything. The plan below all flows from that one conversation.

Get found, organically

From the positioning, getting found becomes a sequence that compounds over the year. Ten coordinated workstreams that normally ship as ten separate vendor engagements, here on one calendar and none of it dependent on ad spend.

The foundation is in and the content is building on top of it.

Get found, paid

Organic compounds slowly, so the plan pairs it with a small, measured paid program to catch the people searching right now: two channels, a deliberately small budget, and the one thing that was missing before, every dollar tracked to the client it produced.

This part is sequenced, not yet live. When it starts, the point will not be the spend, it will be the attribution, so the call to scale or hold is made on real numbers instead of a guess.

The work, systematized

The work ran across three separate spreadsheets and people's heads, so a simple question like the status of a return meant pulling someone out of focused work to answer.

The first piece is live: each specialist now has a booking link on the site, so clients reach the right person directly instead of phone tag. Next, the job flow moves onto one simple board so status is on screen, and online payments replace the manual back-and-forth. This part is in progress.

The outcome

The foundation is shipped: a live, credible web presence that matches the firm's track record, with a corporate-tax calculator and resource pages built to pull in local searches. The growth plan is underway on top of it, organic search building through the year, with paid acquisition and a systematized back office sequenced next.

One operator across all of it, on one calendar, instead of four separate vendor engagements that never talk to each other.
